Default Neuro Psych Evals & Head Injuries

Hurray! I too have a NeuroPsych doc as my primary. It makes all the difference in the world; he is not afraid to try things that obviously make my family physician very uncomfortable. Thank goodness for specialists!

I had a neuro psych eval about 8 months after my head injury. It was read and interpreted by 3 different doctors who all came up with the same conclusion. I have problems with cognitive things like word finding, multi-tasking and such. It was nice to get validation that I wasn't going crazy or that it wasn't related to meds I was taking. Plus I had cognitive rehab that gave me some really good tools to work around my barriers. It also gives your healthcare team a baseline. If they decide to repeat the testing later, they will have a clear indication if the brain damage is better, worse, or unchanged.
Good luck on your upcoming EEG and MRI too!
