My Shelter in the Storm My Shelter in the Storm
As this sea of sorrow encroaches upon me,
Crashing waves, higher and stronger begin to grow,
The LORD, like a life-boat rescues me once again
From those dire depths that would overwhelm my soul.
If memories, like the wind, begin to blow hard,
And I allow my attention to shift from Him,
As they howl and swirl and stir up pain and strife,
Christ will calm the winds of these memories again.
When the dark storm-clouds of life begin to gather,
And the driving rain of discontentment does fall,
The LORD takes me in to shelter me from the storm.
He alone is my help, my hope, my all-in-all. |
