Its a double edged sword the media is currently exposing with PTSD, which I really don't like about the media in that aspect at present.
I am actually just waiting for a current affairs program here to update their website with a piece they recently did on PTSD and veterans, where they showed one in a positive light, and a second in a negative light... which society being the way it is, the majority of persons will always remember the negative opposed to the positive. |
Anthony,
I joined the forum yesterday and am glad I did! Loved the logo as it pictures things the way they are, black or white just like emotions though gray and color add to the repertoire of feelings. A marine now diagnosed with PTSD cannot get a job at age 21 as a police officer unless he wants to work behind a desk and not carry a gun.
As I think back to my elementary school teachers, I can remember the ones who were mean to me much more than the nice teachers. The media does focus on the negative aspects of life, the sensational, the eye opener. When I read the press release announcing to the world the existence of this forum, I thought, finally a positive news item about PTSD!
Thanks for the kind words. Keep up the great work here.:thumbs-up
