I guess there is a suggestion for you. Probably what you need is a steady, not annoying noise which will be masking the traffic noise. Something like the noise from working air conditioner. I had seen for sale a device which is made for making such noise, probably you can find it online. Alternatively, you may get CDs with natural noises.
