Well, I will first explain that I have not been able to access the forum for a couple of days, Kept getting a "Error" message and when I investigated it I was told it was the Ptsd forum server, so I just waited hoping I could get back on soon as I have been having a rough time. Alot has happened. First off, Puss Puss was not healing with the pin in her leg. We called and checked on her Thursday before the vet closed and he was still optomistic, but then when I was on the road picking up my other son Dustin to have him home for the upsetment, the vet called and talked to my son Paul, Paul called me and then I called the Vet. It was about 5:oo p.m. Thursday and he was closing but had his assistant take blood and urine to check on her values. Puss Puss's glucose was off the charts meaning that she is a severe diabetic and thus would never heal. Then to add the final blow, she was going into renal failure from the diabetes. I had to make a decision and I had him put her to sleep permanent. I came home and just bawled. I had Reager Chaney Funeral home pick up her remains that night so she could be kept refrigerated until friday morning when she was transported by the funeral home to the animal Crematorium in Ft. Collins, approx. 100 miles away. Her ashes will be delivered to us probably Tuesday. My son took it horrible as did I. Paul layed over the foot of my bed Thursday night and stated, that this is the first time in 18 years he will not be sleeping with a cat. So, we remedied that, we got a new baby yesterday, approx. 16 weeks, a bit of a large kitten, but very sweet. It was bottle fed as its mother was not present since less than two weeks old. It has no name yet as my son has not named it as of yet. He wants something mystical, its black and furry, and very petite female. Paul said if any of you have suggestions for a great name he would take it into consideration and appreciate it. So....that is about all on the Vet story for now. The bill is going to be scary. The cremation was scary price wise too. Ugh!!!! |
