Mary's Heart (reworked) Mary’s Heart
In tiny, sleeping Bethlehem,
So crowded by Herod’s census,
Mary gave birth to the Holy One,
Who was come now, to redeem us.
She remembered angelic words,
Too wonderful to contain,
That this Babe was the Messiah,
Emmanuel would be his name.
Mary’s heart must have been troubled,
As she loved her little one so,
Knowing He’d not be hers for long…
This Great King, where cattle did low.
Announcements were made by angels,
Telling poor shepherds the story…
Glory burst forth in the night sky,
Multitudes sang of His glory.
The shepherds came in a hurry,
Desiring their Savior to see…
A wonderful confirmation
That He was the Babe on her knee. |
