Yeah, unfortunatelly there are different causes for pneumonea :( However, I am glad the meds helped Evie. Hope she will enjoy the trip.
I have asthma, too, and cold wleays make things worse. Once during my trip to Russia I got a pretty severe cold. And the goal of the trip was to work in animal shelters there. Well, I could make it to the shelter, and even could work, although could not talk... But finally was treated by the shelter vet, who gave an epi shot and prescribed steroids. Guess I am the only American sucessfully treated by Russian shelter veterinarian!
