When I enlisted in the Navy, you had to answer a bunch of questions about your physical and mental health but you weren't required to submit any official medical records. I ended up being discharged halfway through boot camp because my anxiety was made significantly worse by the stressful military environment. I realized that if I was having trouble dealing with boot camp, how am I going to handle being at war. It's true that if they'd required me to submit medical records prior to enlistment, they would've seen my history of taking medication.
