One more thing ... I just remembered - look up area bike paths you and your family can bike on and maybe plan a trek with picnic. Locally there are many available here along rivers, canals, in State Parks. It is great to have a destination in mind rather than mileage.
Also there are books available in every country that describe bike routes of varying difficulty and lengths to 'tour' different areas on different type bikes. In the US they are often done by States and a frequent title is '50 bike tours of Vermont' for example.
Just for fun, look some up on the internet - Amazon, whatever to check out the resources. In the US I know the National Park Service also has biking information for each park.
It will be fun to just explore the new opportunities you will have. |
