Today I watched my 84 y.o. mom watch the litter of kittens I'm sheltering. Seeing the smile on her face and the joy in her eyes put a lump in my throat. The pure joy just sitting still and watching them play it gave her something money could never buy and we didn't even have to leave home.

I know now what the term "quality time" means
