View Full Version : The Logo

I guess there are many scenario's for this logo, but the particular one that came to mind for me when putting it together, was this:

A guy with PTSD is walking is dog. The dog decides it needs to piss, and thus does so on the nearest tree. That tree is in someone's yard, and the owner is watching the dog piss on the tree. The owner of the yard then abuses the owner of the dog (suffering PTSD) and the dog... (you can see where this is going... can't you?)

So now, the owner of the dog is being calm (if they have already attended a PTSD course... maybe), until such time that the owner of the house, let's call him "x", decides to continue abusing the owner of the dog, and the dog. Well, now most people can take a bit off abuse, except if you have PTSD I guess, but when people stoop to your animals, well... all's fair in love and war, something has to give.

At a rough guess, "x" is about to get the shock of his life. Let's say that the owner of the dog is an ex war veteran, plus suffers from short arse disease! That now makes a cranky little short veteran with PTSD... oh... and a dog! So "x" now comes toward the owner of the dog, immediately startling the owner into thinking... retaliation! Now "x" decides he is going to:

a. kick the dog
b. kick the dog and abuse the owner, or
c. just continue verbally abusing the owner

Well, what "x" didn't realise is that the owner of the dog has PTSD, and short persons syndrome (we all know how short folks make up for a lack of size with a bigger bark) which means; it doesn't matter which option "x" has decided, as he is now hitting the pavement after being punched several times. At this point, I guess I would also be encouraging my dog to continue his pee on "x", just for total embarrassment factor!

So, that is the story of the logo, and why it contains a dog having a wizz, and a sign with a gun, "beware of owner".

What's your interpretation?

The part of the Logo that I'm responding to is the GUN....IMO Once I was abused [sexually..physically..emotionally..spiritually] I was in all reality "SHOT" and with a very big caliber one!!!!! That has definately caused a wound that I have had to deal with presently and now into my future life!!!! Sometimes I imagine standing on a street corner near dusk and just letting out a gutteral LOUD 30 minute SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!:angry-fla [ WARNING: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME OR A LOCAL STREET CORNER] [i guesssssss it would be okay if you don't mind losing your freedom &/or want to model a strait jacket for the Rest of you LIFE]

What do you mean WF, "if you don't mind losing your freedom &/or want to model a strait jacket for the rest of your life?"

Made me smile when I read the caption and reminded of a guy describing himself thus "I was the type of guy who if crossed, would go **** HIS wife and I would return later and **** his dog" Im not sure he was joking either.

What's your interpretation?

My guess had been that T-Hell was probably your military unit or nickname, and that the dog somehow fit into that.

Also perhaps that it had been meant as a warning to internet predators and hackers; anthony is and his website are not to be messed with.

My take on it:

Threaten or invade my territory and you will wish I was a dog. They would be much nicer than I at protecting what is theirs.

Hehe, explosive things come in small packages! ;)

T-Hell

Isn't T-Hell just an abbreviation of 'To Hell' and the whole meaning being that if you think the dog is your problem you've got it all wrong as the PTSD Sufferer (Owner) is who you should be concerned about?

From just writing this it then made me think that it could also infer that what we do worry about (or think we should worry about) may not necessarily be where our focus should be?

T-Hell is an abbreviation for "To Hell"

Not in my corner of the world, I've never heard of that before. Though it makes more sense now.

Wow, Anthony! That is some story. My hubby's a veteran, too, and he'd love it.

I can't help but wonder about a couple of things... like what kind of dog is peeing on the tree? This could significantly impact how we interpret the story. If the guy has a Chihauha -- "Chihuahua" is the actual spelling; I just wanted to see how "off" mine would be :-) -- If he has a Chihuahua on the leash, the story could take a verry different direction than if he had, say, a German Shepherd. And if he had a Labbie, the tree owner would fall instantly in love with this goofy dog and forgive everything in creation because that's what Labs tend to do to humans. Then again, our friend could be in even bigger trouble if his dog is a Jack Russell. Before the humans can even open their mouths to argue, the little guy has sent squirrels screaming into the street, treed every cat within a two-block radius, and totalled the flower beds. ;-)

Wouldn't it be funny if the neighbour on whose tree your dog is pissing turned out to be an easygoing guy, just enjoying some sun on his porch, who happens to think that a dog pissing on his tree is an OK thing 'cause it helps to fertilize his soil. (I might be wrong about this...I don't have a dog so I don't often think on these things...) Who knows, the dog owner and the tree owner might end up cracking open a cold one (Canadian for having a beer), or sharing a big pitcher of lemonade. The tree owner might say, "Well, listen...just clean up after him if he shits on my lawn, OK?" and the dog owner will say, "Sure thing." Who knows...the tree owner might have a dog or two of his own.

The dog owner, who has PTSD, might find out that his new friend has PTSD too, or that one of his loved ones has PTSD. Maybe this guy sits on his porch so often because he's been so exhausted over the years that, well, this is one of the things his doctor tells him he needs to do. Maybe the two guys become friends...the kind of friends that soldiers and rescue ops professionals and cops can be to each other...who understand each other like no one else on Earth can. Maybe they'll continue the conversation by calling the dogs to their sides and going for a walk through a park.
...

I'm reminded a bit of the big sticker that started appearing on car and truck windows when the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes was running. Calvin is seen from the side, taking a whizz and giving the viewer a look that says, Just try to stop me. The dog's expression looks something like that.
...

Another possibility: the graphic's been transposed from an actual photograph that the dog's owner took of him while he was taking a leak. The dog's looking at his human as if to say, Hey! Do I take photos of you while you're pissing?!
...

Myself, I live with cats, and I guess if the logo showed a cat, he would be squatting over a human's favourite pillow, dumping a load. Man oh man, do not piss off a cat. ;-D

Thanks, Anthony!

P.S. What's "short arse disease"?

I imagined that the dog was a pitbull or rotweiler, and since dog piss is invisible instantly and biodegradable, but the solids are what really bothers me when the neighbors' dogs leave them in my yard, I would imagine that a dog peeing on my lawn or my tree was *nothing to get angry about* because I would not want to get into a pissing contest with the guy on the other end of the leash.

I will share funny story about me, that is relevant to this. When I was still living in my hometown, I had a huge yard. All my neighbors would sneak their pets into my yard to poo. I was picking up five large (the big orange ones) garbage bags of poo out of my yard every three months. I only have one medium sized dog.

Well I caught the neighbor. I was standing in my door and the neighbors mother brought their dog over, let him poo right in front of my door in the grass, and walked back to their yard. I was pissed. I'd had enough of this crap. So I grabbed a shovel and picked it up. By this time the mother was in her car and trying to drive away. I walked right in front of her car. If she hadn't stopped I would have tossed it on her windshield. So she stopped and I very angrily, flung the poo back into her son's yard. I gave her a look that would have fried Satan on the spot. She rolled down her window and apologized profusely. I just snarled at her and went home.

They never let their dog poo in my yard again. LOL beware of me, not your pets.. heheh

Nicolette, I am total agreement with you. I also thought "To hell with the dog, the owners the one to be careful of."

I could interpret the logo two different ways.

1- The dog/owner is symbolic of perpetrators and poses a warning that it is the owner who poses the threat as he/she is the one essentially disrespecting you by allowing their animal to pee on your property. This was the first way I interpretted the logo. In this image the dog would simply pose as the symbol for the method by which the owner harms you. "Don't shoot the messenger" type of mentality.

2- Anthony's interpretation to beware of the owner who has PTSD. I respectfully disagree with this interpretation as it implies that someone who suffers from PTSD is automatically someone who is volatile and dangerous, and I think there are equal amounts of PTSD who internalize all of their reactions rather than to externalize them towards other people.

3- A third interpretation could be that the one suffering PTSD is the dog itself due to mistreatment by the owner.

As I mentioned, the first one I saw was scenerio 1. Also, Im looking at the logo at the top of the forums and dont know where a gun came into play because I do not see it on my screen so perhaps im not looking at the same logo as everyone else.

In my guild on World of Warcraft we have made up the myth of ManBearPig and I think ManBearPig would be a more fitting mascot for the forums as it would symbolize the fact that everyone is both human(man), yet has the capacity to be dangerous and reactive (bear), and that we can be given to overindulging our instincts of finding the rescuer or self harm (pig)...

But then I tend to overthink these things ;)

I have seen that saying before and think it's funny. I live in Pa. a big hunting state,
so people actually have that sign on their windows and whatnot.

I saw this the other day and thought it fit quite well with the logo......

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or hump it. Piss on it and walk away.

Growing up, we had a big sticker on the front door window that read, "Never mind the dog - BEWARE OF OWNER." The graphic was as if you were staring down the barrels of a double-barreled shotgun being pointed at you. We didn't have a dog, but I did have a dad with a lot of guns. The slogan always makes me think of that.

Combined with the dog graphic, the slogan here makes me think the dog's owner would do a lot worse than just peeing on something or someone!
