Dr Roerich enlightened me to a new site the US Government have put out just recently, being battlemind.org. The site contains information about the general effects that veterans often suffer during post deployment, when returned home, and general integration issues suffered.

From my own personal experience, I gave the site a rating of 110% out of 100% (it is that good IMHO) because of the sheer quality of information contained within the formats. The video footage depicts exactly how veterans act when returning home from operations, and not knowing which direction to turn for help, or why these things are occuring. My wife said to me whilst watching part of the video, "someone put a camera in our house", as those videos depicted exactly how I acted on my return.

Many of the issues we face on operations are often repairable if caught early enough with counselling, but when we don't know which direction to turn, very quickly this turns into PTSD, and life becomes much worse for all concerned.

As a veteran myself, and a person with PTSD, who has healed and repaired myself to the other side where the grass is greener, if any veteran reads this, I recommend you take an hour out of your life, go and watch the video presentation on battlemind for yourself, its the first part of the homepage, titled "For Soldiers and Family Members".

Do it for yourself, do it for your spouse, family, and more importantly, if you have children, do it for them. As Nike say... Just Do It!
