I better get this started.
22 year vet with 2 tours.
Yes, I have nightmares and fear of rejection and being alone.
My wife is trying to understand. She's an RN.
My daughter thinks PTSD is bogus.
But this is for me and will pay benefits to them.

Welcome RK, I hope your daughter never learns how real this is. And I do hope your wife learns to cope, as you never get this until you have it. That said welcome to the forum.

Welcome Home Brother,
That's an important statement for you to believe and accept, that you are welcomed back to a grateful nation, as a returning Warrior.
If you have not been debriefed by the military, it's very important for you to get help. Vet Centers are a good start. Talk to a counselor there. He'll probably suggest one-on-one or group therapy for you. Take it, it's very important to be able to put the trauma behind you as soon as possible. It only gets worse if you don't.
You've arrived at a very good place online to learn, and it's only limited by your willingness to believe. It's also important for your family to learn about PTSD too, so they can understand what PTSD is, and how to give you the support that's necessary for you to feel REALLY "at home" again with them.
Respectfully,
