TRAINS, PLANES, AUTOMOBILES, Well ive been in them all had my fair share of troubles and tales to tell.
The last six months trying to get my driver license back have been like trying to change the eating habits of a third world country from rice to KFC, damm near impossible.
Well the day finaly came all my doctors agreed that i was metaly stable to drive a car, and the people at the Motor Reg Dept were also happy to take my money so i got my license.
So look out Australia Nuggets back on the road, keys in hand , arse in drivers seat, heart pounding nearly jumping out of my chest, and i havent started the car yet.
So turn the key lets get the show on the road, im gona do this i calming down the more i drive, im doing 20 kms an hour maybe time to speed things up a little.
Nothing to do with the cars behind me, up to 50 then 60 im moving now the heart pumping, the anxiety is raising i need to pee badly, but its only nerves.
Im doing it i will show the barstards i can drive a f---en car, all this time catching buses and trains when i could have been driving around enjoying the freedom.:smoking:
Nearly home we turn down our street i see our house up the drive way, turn the car off, proud of myself shit yer , inside for a cuppa, then i just fell apart like a cheap Kmart tent, it takes me three days to get over my little drive but well worth the adventure. Since then i have had about 4 or 5 little drives and enjoyed them very much, but the truth is i do miss my TRAINS & BUSES very much.

Hi Nugget,

I am so glad for you.....I would be lost without being able to drive. It's one area in my life that is my independence. Without driving, I wouldn't be able to work.....I self support myself.

Keep up the good work. Drive safely!!!!!!

Rob,

Great job!!! I love reading your stories and like them even more when it's nugget vs. world and nugget wins! And you kept going after your first time. Way to go, Mr. Prime Minister. Hey, you can use your car for advertising now. That would be good considering the campaign sign incident on the bus. Oh...was I not supposed to say anything about that? *grin*

Great job, Rob!

Top effort with getting your licence back Nugget. Reading anything you write is always a giggle but this one gets the huge thumbs up as well.:thumbs-up

Look forward to you picking Anthony and I up in your best driving costume but PLEASE DO NOT follow any of Humphrey's dress sense and PLEASE wear pants as all good Prime Ministers do (even if the pants are trackie dacks!)

Hi Wen

I guess Rob did just wear it in public considering there are some 2000+ members who can view this let alone those just passing by!

Point well taken!!!!!

Can I use the excuse that my brain is NOT functioning too well as I am in withdrawal from meds??? Or do I just have to suck it up as one of those REALLY stupid moments in my life???? LOL!!!!!!!

Jods, I just envision the big ol' guy coming in dressed up like that for bed and a Humphrey in his arms! I bet never a dull moment there. I could just imagine your home vid collection LMAO.

OH Why do i feel like every bodies laughing at me and not with me, Jods has taken the video camera away from me and all my movies. Some thing to do with a home movie i made with Humphrey and myself before he departed, i only try to add laughter to peoples lives and make them happy.

How's the driving going Rob? From what I recall from my times in Adelaide you would be spending most of your time driving round the block if you were in the city! LOL!

Any progress with the costume?

nugget
12-09-2007, 10:26 PM
Ah yes good old Adelaide when you get lost just keep turning left and you will find your way back on track, their was a rumour once that we were going to put a bend in one of our roads to keep interstate visitors from getting home sick. My driving has been going pretty good i dont tend to go to far from home about 20ks is my limit at the moment. It just drains the hell out of me and takes a couple of days to get over it, but im giving it my best shot. I know if i had to drive for a reason i could so im happy with that at the moment. As far as my costume goes well you just have to wait and see, lets just say i dont think you will have any trouble finding me on the day.

I think I might feel sorry for Anthony and Nic....Although I would love to be a fly on the wall to see this all go down....Nugget in his outfit, and Antony and Nic trying not to pee their pants in public while laughing.......

I hope to see the pictures posted as soon as it happens.....

Nugget, you certainly do have a way with things.....

Good job with the driving. I didn't get my license to drive till I was 31 and in full PTSD flare.....Oh crap...It was not fun. I feel for you, but am happy that you are doing this. It's one part of your independence....and another part is tell PTSD to KISS YOUR BUTT!!!!!!!

You all are absolutely hilarious! I'm reading these messages all the way through (although backwards) and it is wonderful. It's like reading a book or watching a movie. This is really good stuff everyone. Really cool.
