Was abused every which way when I was very young, only remember some of it. Cut one of my meds (Abilify) in half because of side effects and ended back in to therapy. Dissociated. Anyone out there dissociate?

Hi Vicky,

Welcome! I'm new here too. I poked around this forum for a few months before I worked up the courage to post anything. Look around and take it at your own speed. If you read some of the other posts, I think you'll find that members generally respond with courtesy and support.

Overall we do not differentiate with C-PTSD and PTSD. Many of us do have the label of C-PTSD, including myself. However, PTSD is PTSD. It makes no difference how or where we get it, how long we have had it etc...

Hi Vicky
I have dissociative symptoms. Once I went to church and headed home but could not remember how to get home. I was right down the street from it. I drove back to church and after awhile figured it out. I have parked my car in lot to walk past it many times and not recognize it, ready to call the police. Recently, I was upset about my sister treating me bad and was telling someone after a few minutes it was like me not doing the talking but hearing someone else ramble on and I was straining my ears to hear but the words were all muffled. It was me. I now take anixety pills whereever I go and if I feel it coming on I take the meds. Most of the time one does not it is happening till its all over with. It was quite embarring for me, I wanted to run.
