View Full Version : Struggling for Years Not Knowing I Have PTSD

I worked and lived in a very high stress situation (saving lives) overseas. I still am overseas after 10 years. But since my first assignment my life is different.
I can have good times until a trigger comes that reminds me of what has happened back then (I am glad I at least got that far recognizing that). Then i feel very down, depressed.
I stumble into the same difficult situations again and again and it throws me out of balance.
A few weeks ago I got the diagnosis that I have complex/chronic PTSD. Finally what I felt a long time is validated now. I am so happy about this diagnosis, it meets me where I am.
I am a bit nervous about being out here in the forum, but also expecting good come out from it.
I look forward to hear from you!
