View Full Version : Pushed Myself Out of Bed and Went to the Movies

Yesterday I was in a very bad mood, a bit depressed, anxious and tired. I wanted to stay in bed the entire day. But I forced myself to get up and have a shower. Usually my dad has to push me when I am in this bad of a mood but I did without his help this time. I then went into town, alone, and got groceries for my mum. While in town I decided on a whim to go to a movie, again alone! I have never been in a movie theatre alone. It was a matinee so not many people were in attendance but I was still proud of myself for it! I got myself a drink at a coffee shop afterwards too, before coming home again. I'm kind of excited as I didn't realize I was capable of doing all that on my own. It went very well!

Isn't that a great feeling when you surprise yourself and get to say - Hey, I didn't even know I could do that!

What a great feeling! How do you feel now?
I hope the movie was great! The Oscars are coming up in a few weeks.
The freedom of coming and going by yourself, in your own car, must be wonderful.

Wow thanks everyone for the encouragement, sorry I'm just not posting much these days, but I appreciate it!

Hodge and Wendy, the movie I went to see was The Golden Compass. I really liked it! As I was raised Catholic though, I'm kind of confused about what is so controversial, like why the Church is so opposed to it. I guess maybe the pope and the bishops don't want us to be free thinkers?? Oh well, what else is new... :p

Anyways thanks, I was excited to go on my own, I think I might do it again sometime.

Way to go Smooch! (; Going to the movies alone is something most people don't like doing, PTSD or not..

Good point Travis. Must say I hate going alone - it makes me feel out of place especially in a romantic film (which I love) with all the couples.

Thanks again everyone, and that is a good point Travis. I never thought of that, thanks for mentioning it though, it makes me feel good to know people don't normally go to the movies alone. I actually enjoyed myself and I think I want to do it again. :)

Well done my girl. What I am going to do with all my free time, now that you don't need pushes any longer? ;-)
