I am typing this on my family's Playstation controller so it will be short. I got 2 job offers today within minutes of each other! It's a paycut from my last job, but the work is much better. One of them is environmental engineering, cleaning up all the mess in this country! Small companies too, less political crap to deal with.

That's wonderful! Come to New Mexico and move out all the depleted uranium and buried WMD's for me, please.

Haha not that kind of environmental engineering! Sounds dangerous...

I got another offer this morning, it's a better job and they want to pay me more!

And I have a keyboard again, so I can type normally.

Oh, I just love it when three of them fight over me!
I go to the highest bidder, honey. (wink)

Way to go! :thumbs-up

I vote for the smaller company. They tend to care more about job satisfaction and care for their employees more. You're not 1 in 20 in the department on a project.

Being a small company though look for stability of the company economically.

Is this a major shift of the type of engineering for you?

Is this a major shift of the type of engineering for you?

The environmental engineering gig would have been a shift, as it has some construction management aspects and exists in the civil engineering world (meaning I would need to get a PE license). I'm trained well enough to do that job though, after a point all the engineering calculations and systems begin to look alike, regardless of discipline.

The job I'm leaning towards is consulting/contract work, more along the lines of product engineering and manufacturing. I'm a Mechanical Engineer and I have experience in that area, so it's a good fit. Also a much better location.

Location is very important!

Easy commute, lunch places, tolls, parking, safe environment, ....

Bonus would be a park close by to go out to eat lunch in the sunshine!

Sounds like a great fit for you. Best of luck!

Keep us in the loop about your transition and what transpires about the other aspect from your former company if you choose to file the complaint.

Your are a good person to take that risk for the benefit of others.
