As most of you know my son has high functioning autism or aspergers. He placed 4th highest in the whole school in a spelling bee. I was sooooooooo proud of him, with everything going on he is doing quite well and we are going to be ok. He even stood up in front of a group of about 50......now that is progress, I never thought he would be able to ever do that....I am proud of him and proud of me!!!!!

Great news Pandora. You and your son should be proud.

May I suggest, when things have settled, that you go back and read your thread about everything going wrong...it will make you see just how much you accomplished and what you overcame. It should show you how well you did holding yourself together through a really difficult time.

Awesome stuff!

Thank you everyone!!!

Things that have gone right.......

I found a nice place, main level of a house...purchased an apartment size washer and dryer...no stairs...no apartment..still have a backyard
Was able to get hydro and cable, phone, internet.....first and last and paid my mom back......that is all paid for
I have a great cousin helping....and her boyfriend.
My mom is in nice mom mode.
My brother got involved when he found out this landlord was threatening me.......
My sons attitude is great...he said to look at this like it is a vacation and while we are here we should just enjoy the babies (6 months and 2)
My mother is buying my son a new bed because my "roommate" took my sons bed after I told her not to.....I won't get into that here.
It is almost summer....and I have a backyard again!!!!!
I am walking soooooo much better.
Even with all that is going on.....I could be doing worse...it started bad and I reached deep inside and somehow grasped what little strength is left....survived another horrific ordeal.
Thank you Nicolette....I will have to do that again in another couple of weeks.

See Pandora, even with only a 12 year old as company , you can give yourself positive feedback and encouragement which is measurable by all that you achieved....a job well done!:thumbs-up

It is amazing how we continue to survive in spite of all we have to overcome.

I am very proud of you Pandora for having the strength and smarts to keep your focus on the needs of your son and yourself. Each step you took one moment at a time shows how well you are grounded in the present and addressing the needs of your son and yourself.

Reflect on how you handled each step you faced - how is it so different than the way you would have handled a few years ago while working through your traumas. That is a measure of your personal growth to creating a new life with PTSD. :thumbs-up

Cudos to you and your son. His remarks to you and his personal accomplishments reflect the personal accomplishments of BOTH of you.

Take some time to glow in the warmth of success. Celebrate for both of you even if it is a brownie sundae or an excursion to a park for a picnic! :occasion:
