I suddenly feel the urge to look at the forum in a new light as it has been depressing me of late. Sometimes it feels like I am reading complaint after complaint and, while this is not true, I have become to feel that I am clouded by the struggle of the community here.

The sufferers are trying to come to an understanding of themselves and us carers are trying to understand them . It is like being in a classroom of students eager to learn but no-one teacher holding all the knowledge to impart upon us so we can finish our studies and leave. We have to work it out ourselves.

There are times when I really enjoy being here. I enjoy the conversations and then there are times when I feel I walk away feeling that I have not made anyone else feel better having offloaded my crap and other times when the crap of others pulls me down.

I am not sure what I will ultimately get from the forum but I just realised this is the one place I can come and talk about PTSD where people do understand and that is worth everything when dealing with a sufferer

While I may have lost my focus, I am now ready to read between the lines and continue learning about PTSD rather than just reading the struggle.

Nicolette, You are so right. I do feel like I vent a lot in search of knowledge and I think other carers are like this too. We all want to help the best way we can. We all want to understand and be supportive. And I think the PTSD sufferers want their carers to understand too.

How can we accomplish this?? Maybe Anthony can create another category for discussion. I don't know but it is a GREAT idea!

The ways in which to accomplish all these things are already in the forum... the information sections contain most of the important aspects which any member, sufferer or carer, requires to start making their life a whole lot better. Again... choice. People read and do not do... they just think there is more to it or simply don't want to do themselves, they want someone holding their hand and guiding them the entire way... do little themselves. It just doesn't work that way...

Sufferer and carer must take control and action their life with positive steps, positive influence.... choice. All the information is already here and online.
