Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now.

Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year.

Experiences in an Inner City Psych. Ward

During morning rounds I am observing a patient being interviewed in her room. A small African American woman in purple bell bottom sweat pants and a yellow shirt comes down the hall and pushes at the exit door. It does not open. She turns around and pushes on a "staff only" door. It does not open either. "B-TCH!" she yells angrily as she kicks the door. She gives the door another loud kick. "M--F-cker!" she screams. She repeats this loud, distracting action...

Sweet Mistakes

I used to listen to Ellis Paul in my later college years. I'd jack my headphones into the lab computer and log on to his site:

Free MacGyver!!! Wahoo!!!!

So I was poking around cbs.com, and I discovered a whole bunch of free on-demand MacGyver episodes!!! Well this should keep my busy on rainy days... and with any luck, I'll learn how my toothpaste can diffuse warheads!

Hiatus

I was on a health-related hiatus. Long story short, "female problems" and surgery for said problems. I am recovering.

However, I'm merely using this entry to shout "Take me now, Lord!"

You see, my low will to live and my broken heart have struck again. And it's hurting so bad I can't really take much more.

I hate this.

Something we should do

One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students
in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.

Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of
their classmates and write it down.

It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as
the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.

That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name...
