Kostas Restaurant Adventure, Rhodes, Greece

Last October, 2007, we went to Greece, and while on Rhodes, we arrived at the B&B and dropped off our luggage and since we were starved, we asked another couple for advice on a seafood restaurant. They told us the restaurant was Kostas, but there was one little thing to know...they allow cats...on the tables.

Well, we have 2 cats that sleep with us and walk everywhere, so it did not bother us, but it made that couple squirm to describe the scene to us. We were intrigued. Greece...

Husband's Bear story

Darling Husband goes hiking in the mountains almost daily. He has had close encounters with many rattlesnakes, coyotes and one scared mountain lion.

Wednesday, he was hiking alone on a mountain trail when he heard a loud, inhuman noise that sounded like an angry bear with bronchitis, growling. We have had almost daily bear sightings and mountain lion sightings in the past 2 weeks. Several pets have gone missing.

The awful noise was coming from up ahead of him, behind...

2quilt's peach raspberry cobbler

7 peaches
1 pint raspberries
2 teasp lemon juice
1/4 cup white sugar

1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teasp baking powder
3/4 teasp salt
5 Tablesp butter, soft
2/3 cup milk

Peel and slice the peaches. Eat the skins; they are good for you. Set oven to 400 degrees F. In a 2 quart baking pan, mix fruit with lemon juice and sugar. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
While it baking, make the biscuit topping....
