Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now.

Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year.

New idea letting me past old limits

When low the ideas I had, the connections I was making, it was all absolute. All seemed simply to be from the pure reality. Of course that was not accurate. Was all just how I saw things, not some kind of enhanced objectivity or anything else. This is a great change in my thinking. Hard to figure out what I really want to say here. I saw others and knew what they said and thought was based on how they saw things, but I somehow did not think it really applied to me when looking at my own situations....

What are the requirements for creativity, playfulness, spontaneity?

Strange thing has come up in my mind now. I tried to find what stops me from just writing or drawing right now, and it is simply a lack of I guess call it impulsive sense of what to actually do. I seem to either lack it or only possess a rudimentary form of whatever it is that provides creativity. Spark or whatever you call it. Some other things seem related. I find myself taking things very seriously even when they are not and I can't say that there has ever been anything that actually merited...

What groups are you all invovled with?

I am often discouraged when I think about the massive gaps in my knowledge of social interaction. I was able to do well most of the time with school and college and that kind of structured setting with clear obligations. That is not like life though. Those kinds of situations are fine for education, hell probably optimal for work when I can walk again. Not so ideal for social interaction though. I know, find structure in groups so the suggestion goes, but how do you find them? How do you even know...

Working to expand my interests

I figure writing here is worth a try. Lots of things have happened since I joined just over a year ago now. Started out and everything went very well. Then the lack of well, life, in my life at the time caused lots of problems. I tried taking a long trip to break that and it worked, but at the end I was injured and that made me regress some. Tired of that kind of existence though. I am resolved to change even if it must be entirely through force of will. I have been too focused for a long time and...
