I have BPPV (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/vertigo/DS00534) and it sucks.

I had such a terrible time with it this morning I was nearly 2 hours late to work.

See, it's usually at its worst in the morning when I lift my head to get out of bed, then turn it to look at the clock, radio, or television.

This morning was the usual. But it wouldn't stop. The room...spinning...faster and faster and faster!

Holy crap, man! It was so bad that I could hear the wind whipping past my ears! And everything was just whirling about my head.
It would be psychadelic if it wasn't so...well, frightening. Ach!

So I got with my doc and he prescribed Antivert (yippee, yet another drug) and I had to get it pre-authorized. I'm starting to think my health insurance company just does that for sick kicks. Almost everything I take had to be either pre-auth'd or is a controlled substance so my doctor's office doesn't stock samples...

It's funny -- my balance was never that great and I was a clumsy kid. I'm going to ask my ENT about this next I see him.
