| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | November 11 is also Remembrance Day (similar to Veteran's Day I think) in several countries, including the UK, Scotland and Canada. |

| | In Flanders field the poppies blow
between the crosses row on row,
that mark our place;and in the sky
the larks,still bravely sing,fly
scarce heard among the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
we lived, felt dawn, saw sunsets glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In flanders field
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you with failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
we shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields |

| | Farmer that brought back a memory for me!! Not a bad one though. At age 8 I was chosen to recite that poem at our local Remembrance Day service and also place a wreath on our war memorial. I remember I felt very excited and proud of myself.
Anyways I forgot to say in the first post, thanks to all the veterans on the board! |

My mother who served in the UK land army, starting at 14 who bore to fear of german bombers with brothers and sisters in and out the the air raid shelters.
My four uncles (two UK and to Ozzies)
and to all the brave young men they fought with side by side, worldwide and to all the brave men who have fought to this day.

| | there is a veterans' poem inthe poetry section for today's holiday, too. take a minute to remember their service and sacrifice, and offer up a prayer for those still living.
