Maybe your MD can recommend where you can get help with your specific issues related to your PTSD...I think it's worth a shot!!! I know that therapy helps me a lot!!! I was fortunate to find a therapist that understands and works with me....I found him through a recommendation from a nurse casemanager at a hospital about 1 hour east of here....I also have a psychodoc that understands PTSD...I was also fortunate to be in a PTSD women's group several times [got cancelled because it was not financially rewarding to the Hospital that sponsored it---Boo-Hiss!!!] It was a great place to learn..speak my mind..give & get support..where I learned all sorts of information so having PTSD wasn't quite so scary!!! Especially after such a loss of your marriage...depression will usually set in...so that doesn't make you a bad person....I found for myself that sharing bit by bit my story that I could find some islands of HOPE!!! No rush---just when you're ready...As for meds talk it out with your doctor...I am on some meds and have been for several years...the purpose of all that is to keep me up to a level that I can work through my issues...Keep coming back...As I said before you can get a lot from this forum...I do!! :loopy: ....wildfirewildone PEACE

Welcome Zamboni!

I would have replied sooner...
but like you, I have PTSD.
So although I've already read your post many times.
I wasn't in a chatting mood up until now.

I think it's a bad thing you have PTSD... 'cause it does suck!
but it's very GOOD that you've found this site :)
Trust me!

Hi Zamboni,

Welcome to the forum. I merged the multiple threads into one, so please don't post the same thing across different forums, as it just complicates reading and posting for people.

I think you have already been given some great advice already, so anything new I am to add, would just really be pissing into the wind as such. I have been sick with the flu myself, but everyone else has given you great advice, and in actual fact, the exact same advice I would give you.

Please do what is in the best interest of you, and not what you think is in the best interest. Medication is a neccessity during the worst of PTSD... as it helps us to stop bouncing of the walls, and stabilize to help our recovery. As you learn, you drop the meds. Some people can learn to cope without them, some will never be able to cope without them. But education and trauma therapy are a must if you want to beat the worst of PTSD to live a fairly functional life once again.

I look forward to chatting with you more.
