Default PTSD Support Maintenance

Maintaining your work in getting yourself to a level that can operate, and function within normal society, can be taxing, but it is important that you do so, or you will slide back to heavy depression, anxiety and anger outbursts again. Some factors that could assist you are:
  • Counselling, support and programs
  • Phone and chat with othes who have PTSD
  • Spouses, family and friends through talking
  • Support forums and groups
  • RSL's
  • DVA, VVCS, VVAA, ACPMH
  • Vetline and lifeline
  • TPI and Peace Keepers associations
  • Setting goals, daily activities and tasks
  • Breathing and relaxation time
  • Sidestep taxing situations
  • Eat healthy, good diet and drink in moderation only
  • Listen to others, hone listening skills (reflective listening)
  • Compromise
  • Leave the past in the past, and attempt to move to the future
  • Partners associations
  • Give yourself "me" time
  • Your world hasn't changed, so adapt
  • Volunteer work
  • Alcoholics Anonymous, Gambling Anon and Sexual Abuse Anon
There are a miriad of online and offline support for you, so use it. If you have PTSD from childhood trauma, then you may need to also seek groups out for childhood trauma, as well as PTSD.
