| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Bec, if you have cut back though, and lets say you cut the before bed coffee and don't drink it say.... two hours prior to going to bed; do you believe it affects your sleep or not? I drink the stuff all day and it doesn't affect my sleep. I go to bed around 9 - 10 nowadays, wakeup at 5 - 7am in the morning... depending on what I have on any given day. |

| | I have cut it out.. even for entire evenings for weeks at a time and I find it makes no damn difference at all. Still have the same sleep problems. It's frustrating actually cause I constantly hear that I need to "cut the coffee" and I will sleep and it just doesn't work.

| | Then maybe its just not the coffee for you, like myself. Coffee wasn't the cause for me not sleeping... damn anxiety caused by trauma was. |

| | addicted to coffee Caffeine depleits the calcium in bones, and it makes cysts in breast tissue, uteruses (uteri?), overies, all over the place where I don't want cysts.

| | OK, I cannot blame coffee for sleep issues, but anxiety, jumpiness, buzzed... They don't seem much better off but once I try to drink again they are so much worse. |

| | I think its because your body gets used to it so you dont feel the effects so much. I wasn't aware of how much caffiene effected me until i stopped drinking it. I had a headache for about a week and now when I drink coke I feel it pretty much straight away. Guess everyone's tolerance is different. If I have a coke now I try not to have one after 3pm. That way I hope its out of my system by bedtime. It just makes sense, no stimulants before bed is my rule. Alcohol makes my dreams much worse too. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
