Thank you, Kathy, thank you, bec!
I think it is critical to maintain your perspective as a carer for a sufferer. I personally cannot imagine intentionally "getting even" or playing some kind of "tit-for-tat" with my wife. This is one of those situations where keeping score is pointless, and even counterproductive. Save the competitiveness for the office, and remember that you are on the same team.

"johnny", man of few words but they can carry so much weight. The attitude above is why I love you so much and we work... As a team. And Bec I can tell you he is very much impressed how you are truly a super-human being on both sides as a sufferer and a carer.

I had ment something along the lines that coming here "venting" ALL the time is not helpfull in a carers overall attitude. That to help stay in a positive thought process we need to see the good and talk about the good on here and not just the bad. What you feel after spending time on here affects your attitude you take back to your real life situation as well. And when we are all venting.. it could help a sufferer feel as if they are justified in there feelings of being hurt and feeling as if they deserve better.. so keeps the cycle going in there home life.

Great post Kathleen. Great comments as well. As a carer your always going to stuff up sometimes. Did that this morning myself, and I sorely regret it. However. Can't honestly fathom doing that sort of thing on purpose. Christ. Makes me ill just thinking about it. If that's anyone's intent here, get the hell away from your sufferer. Their better off without you. And. Instead of coming here constantly to whinge about how shitty life is, why not get up off your ass and try to improve the situation. Take responsibility. Be a MAN or a WOMAN, as the case may be.

Jim.

You do a great job Jim. As sad as it is to say we do all stuff up sometimes but your heart is in the right place and that is what matters.

Yes we are human & we all stuff up at times.

I think the important thing to do is be open & willing to learn.
The sufferers have to re learn how to cope with things so I think if you expect them to go to docs etc to learn how to control symptoms then we as carers should too.
Don't be afraid to go & seek help for yourself, to learn new skills. You never know it might just help you & your loved ones to live in a better environment.
