| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | How Often is the Chat Room Used? I'm pretty new here. I'm just wondering how often the chat room is used on this site, generally speaking. Whenever I've entered it, no one else is there. That's not terribly surprising, especially if only a handful of members are logged onto the site at the time. Still, the chat room has been one of my favorite means of connecting with people on other PTSD/Dissociative Disorder forums, and I'm curious how much chat is utilized on this particular site.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!
Cin :)
P.S.--Sorry if I posted this thread in the wrong place. I wasn't sure where to put it!

| | That is OK, Tiger. The chat room is not overly used as many find it hard to come out of their shell and be spontaneous. You never know who is going to be there! Any way tomorrow is the standing chat time where normally you will find people. Here is the link so you can find your time to match. People will come and go over a couple hours usually. http://www.ptsdforum.org/thread5120.html |

| | People use it for all purposes, some private discussions in private rooms, some general discussion in the general room. If you want to chat with someone, the best thing is to simply open a new window, go into the room and remain their. When someone else comes in, instead of thinking nobody wants to chat, they will see you and if you haven't checked it you will be marked with an away sign, which allows others to know your there but just not monitoring at that time.
If you check back every 5 minutes or so, you will likely find someone else has come into the room and will be there to chat with you.
Also as mentioned above, standing chat time as an organised group. |

| | OK, thanks for the info, everyone!
I only have my son on the weekends during the school year, so Saturday afternoons might be iffy for me, but I'll give it a whirl, even if it's for a half-hour or so.
BTW, it took me a while to find this thread, as I had evidently posted it in the wrong place, and it got moved to "Chat--General." I thought the thread had been deleted cuz I couldn't locate it in a few places. I got flustered and upset. Finally, I found it here.
In the future, if someone's thread is moved, can an admin PM that person to let her/him know where the thread has been moved to? I know I would find that helpful, and I would certainly appreciate it!
Thanks for considering it.
