Default Sleeping In Car-Afraid of Break-In

My current diagnosis is Bipolar/OCD and PTSD, though as mentioned on previous thread I dont believe I have Bipolar or OCD.

The past few nights Ive been paranoid of someone breaking into the apartment with a gun, so Ive been sleeping in the car.

I think perhaps it has to do with the fact when i was a kid, mu uncle would break in our house, beat up my mom, threaten to put her head through the window, threaten to kill us, so I don't know.

Im just so paranoid.

Im dis couraged because my Dr called me after I left a message saying i was paranoid and said "I dont know what to say"

If he doesnt know what to say, and im still feeling unwell what is the point of taking medication, and seeing him anymore.

If you keep communicating with him hopefully one of you will come to a conclusion as to what is wrong or what to talk about. From that point maybe you can get to the root of the problem through talking. When he figures out what is wrong or has a general idea he can prescribe the 'correct' medication for your situation.

Good luck
Tammy

Hi Vapor.....it does sound a bit paranoid....maybe you should get an emergency appt...It really is not fair that you don't feel safe enough to be in your own home alone....best of luck to you! Can you safeguard your house in a way to make it any safer????/ Alarms...dead bolts.....big dog......a safe neighbor? Just a few suggestions....I hope you stop sleeping in your car soon.

Hi, I read your post and it struck a chord of fear in me. I do understand that you're not feeling safe in your home, but it seems to me that you're not being safe by sleeping in your car. Please be careful... There are a lot of looneys out there! I'll be thinking of you.
Take care, Morgan

Hi Vapor,
Maybe you can try to explain to your Dr that if he does not know what to say, that he may refer you to the specialist who does?
Also, probably try to do something to make your place safer than it is now. There are few good things can be done: house and car alarms, window bars, even surveilence cameras - whatever can increase your feeling of safety.

I have a question? When you had to go through the trauma of your uncle's actions,

was there someplace you would go hide? Did you have a place at that time where

you would feel safe?

share because it does involve your current paranoid fear.
