This is interesting thanks guys!
Hubby has it for 4 or more days at a time. He does have stomach issues after contracting typhoid when he was in Somalia.
But there is a definite pattern when he is stressing over something you can bet a couple of days later his IBS kicks in.
His GP said to him last week and I was there to listen that it is stress related.
Hubby said to GP that he thinks it is his diet.
GPs response " Its your head mate"

I have had watery diarreah since 29 November.

When I was 22 I went 28 straight days without a bowel movement. That's my personal record. <curtsey>

Veiled, the question actually fits the options, being: "How Many Days in Succession Have You Had IBS?" Yes, IBS changes as you describe, though that is not being debated here. It is a clear question surrounding the symptom off IBS. The only option which is not present which I will add now you have questioned this, is the placebo factor, being "Do Not Have IBS."
I only questioned if they knew IBS. I guess I assumed they thought IBS was a once in a while thing by how the question was phrased. Flare ups of bad times seemed to be it. But like PTSD IBS never leaves but luckily you can have good days. Unfortunately diet does not always play a role. For several days you cannot be more than 5 ft from a potty and sometimes for days you cannot make plumbing work for a good week. Most complaints are when poos go crazy not much mention of when you go a week and think you need to go to doc to fish out!
