| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | Hi Everybody! PTSD From Childhood Abuse Hello Everybody,
I found this site on Sunday evening & since then have been really enjoying reading all your posts. I have PTSD as a result of abuse that took place back in my childhood. I have been in therapy for a long time now, but the symptoms are still persistent and I guess I have been feeling as though I've hit a wall.
Finding this site, and hearing stories from all sorts of people with all sorts of different traumas or from carers of someone who is dealing with it, has made me feel a lot less alone with my symptoms.
I don't really have too much to say, but I really take comfort from reading all your posts, and polls, and so forth. Thank you all for being here.

| | Welcome to the forum. I find that same comfort in knowing I'm not the only one who has this struggle. I would not wish it on anyone else, but, I'm grateful to those who come here and share. |

| | klmn Before you know it, you will be jumping right in telling your story. Mine can go on to eternity. Been to many T's for 30 years on and off. I have been told by all T's, my life is on the top 10 list of abuse record. I still try and smile. Making others laugh makes me feel good. It makes me feel good helping others. But when I'm down it could take months to snap out of it.
