Default New Here - PTSD for as Long as I Can Remember

I'm not even sure if I'm doing this right...
But I don't know where to start or where to start posting, so I've decided to start here...
My name is Erica, I'm 23... from WI and I've had PTSD since before I can remember. I've delt with a lot of trauma in my life... and I've had a lot of trouble finding people who can understand me and/or are willing to "put up with me".
2 years ago I started an exploratory drug called Naltrexone for PTSD. It has made every day living a little easier so now I'm working my butt off through EMDR.
I'm hoping to find someone else out there using low dose naltrexone for PTSD! But I really just want people to talk to who understand.... even if it's something as small as "I didn't sleep last night". (which is actually the truth)

Enough rambling, just wanted to say hi!

Hi Erica, welcome to the forum. I don't think you should be worried about another who uses the same drug as you, nor for someone who suffers the same trauma type as you, but instead you hit it on the head yourself by looking for the relevance in symptoms. You will find here that you, like all others with PTSD, suffer the same daily symptoms at various times in your life. There is a much better lifestyle awaiting you on the other side of your hard work Erica.... and your certainly going in a better direction towards that lifestyle for yourself. You said your in EMDR, so that is a good start, your on a medication which is helping to you to ease some of the pain, which is also great. As you learn how to take charge of yourself, as you reduce your overall trauma, your life becomes that bit more easier to manage. Your certainly moving in all the right directions though Erica, well done.

Now you have a support mechanism here that helps you to know your not actually crazy or the like, and what you endure is quite normal for PTSD.

Hi Erika, welcome to the forum! I lived in WI for a time, lovely place full of nice people.

I'm curious, is Naltrexone available for prescription or is it still in testing?
