Default My Apologies

Although I won't apologize for my opinions . . . I want to make an apology to anyone on the forum who I offended by my zealous defense of the US of A.

I should have realized that my rant on world politics which might be appropriate in a pub had no place on this forum. It could have caused serious discord on the forum.

I really do have warm regard for Canada our northern friends, the mother country England and the highest regard for Australia and New Zealand, among other countries of the world.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Political threads always seem to get way out of hand on this forum. Yours was definitely not the first. So many of us seem to have strong opinions and are super sensitive at the same time, which is a bad combination! It's good to try and learn to tolerate others' opinions though. I find it's good exposure for me, though I still get upset sometimes.

No worries... everyone is allowed an opinion. As others have said, political discussions tend to touch a lot of raw nerves for many so it easily gets out of hand. Everybody has frustrations, views, and opinions on politics one way or another.

I didn't mind either. I actually thought it was quite funny. Its common to get pretty extreme views on here, some of yours were a red rag to a bull I'm afraid . Everyones opinion is different.

TDurden, the material I found in that thread gave me the best laugh I have had in many weeks... thank you. And I'm glad someone is standing up for us, we have been taking quite a beating lately.

I'll accept your apology. You have done nothing to me, so I'm baffled by your reasoning.
My patriotism has gotten me in trouble before, I recall one instance when a woman from the middle east was offended when I wore my full BDU and dog tags on the day a former service buddy past away. Just something I and a couple other guys I knew from the Army did. She was the only one that complained.

When she complained the cop confronted me about it, and I looked her right square in the eyes and told her that if THIS offends her, I can go fetch my AK47 and make damn well sure she's offended. I swear she was borderline on fainting. Other folks within earshot were laughing and the cop had a hard time holding it in. Did I offend her?

Good.
