I believe woman mostly think on the right brain hemisphere, and men think mostly on the left. Also the limbic system or emotional brain tends to be bigger in females and that is why they tend to be the primary care givers to children. These elements of gender are inherited.

Men have more brain cell numbers and woman have a greater number of cell connections than men.

Gender is subjective, and sex is biological. But this starts turning into semantics. IMO

Hmm, I wonder? Are the women on this forum more emotional than the men? Reread the Iraq thread (if you've got the stomach for it). Is it more/less emotion or different emotions and ways of expressing them?

Whatever the differences in gender and sex and whatever personality variations exist, having a variety makes the forum better by making it more accessible than if one group always dominated... say middle aged women. If that, then what about the macho vets? But, if too many macho vets what about abuse or assault, or violence, or any and every other situation. Variety is the key to letting everyone participate here. A while ago I felt out pretty out of place as almost every thread I saw only women wrote in. Now that lots of other men are more active again perhaps it is going the other way and some of the women may feel out of place. Hopefully less so now, for both genders. This is not just a gender problem though. Its more that divisions exist and the forum sometimes acts as a bridge between them and at other times as a wall. As an atheist sometimes seeing a lot of religious threads makes me back off too. I don't mean to say no one should post anything or try to be PC balanced in what they post, just that these forces are operating here. This is a vague concept though, and identifying it with something readily observed like the gender division makes it a little easier to understand.

Extremely well expressed Tammy... the brain is a function that really displaces sexes, and you hit it on the head. Both brain sides actually have specific function attributes... again, this is viewed as the "majority" basis and is certainly not the "blanket approach" that some may confuse towards themselves.

So in reality it's the women that are the true "right-wingers"?
