ive lived my life for a long time in general denial of events that have transpired in my short lifetime. im seventeen living in upstate new york, about to graduate high school.. and it's only been this last year, not even, that ive really addressed my ptsd, or even recognized that i had it.

i stumbled upon this site late one night (insomnia) while researching around all sorts of disorders n such (i like psychology, its been one of the few constants in my life, lol). my ptsd is caused by a fatal car accident i was involved in with my father at the age of six, along with many supporting factors surrounding 'the accident'. ive recently begun writing and sharing more, but for most of my childhood i didnt address the issue at all, hiding every anxiety behind my wall that im still breaking down. it has made me feel like ive lived multiple lives and i just wanna be me and have some sense of control... reading some stories on here has made me feel a bit more 'normal' if that makes any sense, and i look forward to sharing more and talking with the members here, you all seem to be very empathetic and compassionate.
