| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Congrats!
Please do not take offense at the next statement I make. It is meant in the most positive of ways. Ready, here goes Congrats on finally getting a back bone!
What you did is one of the most difficult things for me to do. It is difficult for a lot of people. You should be proud.
Hope your mom is doing ok. I am caring for my mom too, so I know how you feel. You can handle anything now-------you've found your backbone

| | My mom is now out of the hospital and it seems that the procedure went well....She told me that she'll need some recovery time.....My father said that the first night they needed to give her pain medication....I haven't heard from my ex-friend....For about the last 3 days I keep getting calls that someone hangs up just after my machine starts it's message or the whole message plays and then the hang up......I'm wondering if it's my ex-friend who has done this in the past.....This better not keep on or I will report it to the phone company.....I am not letting this drive me nuts!!!! ...KEEPING THE PEACE |

| | my phone company has a deal where they will block a specific phone number for me free for 3 months. the caller gets this recording saying that the number you are trying to reach is not accepting calls from your phone number.
i think you have to rent or buy caller ID with this 'free' deal.
she would get the idea that you dont want her calling anymore.
of course all she would have to do to thwart that would be to call from a different phone number, and the whole process starts anew.
but then you can claim harrassment. |

| | wildfire, I am so proud of you. It had to be so hard to stand up for yourself, but it was so worth it!! Look how happy and healthy you are now. Way to go!!!
I noticed that you keep calling this person your 'friend' or 'ex-friend.' I have the same reaction as said earlier by someone else -- this person was never a friend. A friend would not suck the life out of her *friend*, would not take so disproportionately; a friend would never be so demanding, offensive, or use guilt to get what she wants. None of the things I read, were traits of a friend.
You had a leech, my dear, and I am very proud that you chucked that leech right back into the lake. :) *giggle*
*hug*

| | As every day goes by I feel more and more relaxed and peaceful!! That just confirms for me that she was pretty much just a taker!! I don't feel hurt whatsoever about her ending the relationship when she found out that I was so serious with her abiding by my boundaries!!! I only wish I had had an awareness of what was really going on many months ago!! I realize though that by setting the boundary FIRMLY I did the BEST thing for myself!!!! NO GUILT whatsoever!!!!!! I thank all of you for blessed words of support .....YOU GO GANG!!!! LOVING THE PEACE |

| | I came home this evening and there was a message from the person I've mentioned in this thread.....She said she was waiting for me to call her and apologize to HER about what I said 2 weeks ago.... There's no way I even want to talk to her at all!!!..My emotional and physical health has soooo improved I have no desire to speak to her ever let alone call her to apologize about setting my boundaries and hanging up on her when she was being verbally mean to me!!! She said otherwise we wouldn't be friends anymore....then I shut off the rest of the message.....no more her BS!!!! The fact is she's already said that we were no longer friends.....Unfortunately I won't let her walk over me anymore and I won't get involved with arguing with her....Too Bad....So Sad!!!! ENJOYING THE PEACE |

Take care, Morgan |

| | and at how I've handled all of this!!! I saw immediate improvements in my health and well being and that sure helps me feel empowered!!!! I now have learned that even friends have to draw boundaries and stick to them....Being a friend doesn't mean apologizing for setting a healthy boundry and not hanging up when being verbally abused....I have several other friends and now that I'm not having my life sucked out of me...I can give those relationships more attention....I really feel set free!!! I can now feel like I belong with the friends I have and the new people I meet!!! .....THANKFUL FOR PEACE AND LOVING IT |

| | I can relate. I even let my leech move into my house. In the end she was throwing things at me, calling me names, and not allowing me into areas of my own home. On top of that, she wouldn't leave.
I finally just lost it and went to the police station. They had no prolem removing her. Best day of my life.
So congrats on standing strong, keep it up. You don't need let it get out of hand like I did. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
