Default New Veteran With PTSD

Hello everyone..I am so glad I found this site. I have had PTSD since 2004. I was deployed twice to Iraq before the age of 21. I was going to a PTSD group, but my husband is in the military and we have moved overseas and I do not have the same options that I had in the states. Sometimes I just need to talk to someone. I have been having a very hard time making new friends. It is also really hard for me to be a spouse now and no longer a soldier. Just wondering if anyone else has that numbing feeling towards other people who are not in the same boat as you. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi, and welcome. Yes, I definitely do have that numb feeling and the sense of being different from people who have never experienced trauma. Thanks for going to Iraq and fighting on our behalf.

Hi lkm and welcome here! Glad that you found us. I am sorry that you are having a hard time right now but I do understand. I, feel numb to other people alot of the time. It is very hard for me at times actually. I used to feel badly about it, but no I just accept it and that feels safe to me.

Please continue to make use of this group and I hope that you find it helpful for you.

I also thank you for what you did in Iraq. I can't even begin to imagine what you went through.

But....I am very willing to listen.

Take care :)
