| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | Hi Jim,
Have you gotten any help from the VA? Maybe talked to someone at the VA about how you are feeling?
Welcome to the forum and take care of yourself.

| | Welcome to the forum, Jim. You have come to the right place! Nobody should have to go through what you had to do. I thank you for your service and the terrible task you had to do, I thank you and I am certain that the families of those who died thank you.
The VA has actually made my PTSD worse. I am a 100% service-connected disabled Desert Storm vet. You have probably attempted to get help from the VA since the seventies. If that worked for you, get in that line again and get help. The government owes you more than that.
You should also hang around this forum, go get psych help from a civilian if the VA is not a good option for you. You have held on to this pain for long enough, Jim. I am sincerely happy to know that you are among us, and that you have reached the point to get help for your PTSD. We didn't have the internet back then. It's a wonderful resource to talk to folks like yourself from many countries. |
