Wellbutrin helped with my depression and helped me get out of the house more often because I wasn't sleeping all of the time, but didn't help with anxiety.

Everyone reacts to medication differently so you will have to figure this out on your own IMO.

Take care
Tammy

Thanks so much everyone. I have learned a lot and have a new appreciation for how different we all are. Although, for the majority, Wellbutrin appears to not help with anxiety, but does with other things --most of which I experience--depression, nightmares, lack of concentration etc.

I think what I have gained most is that I have a lot I can take to my next psych appointment and discuss with him. He himself said what most of you posted--meds can only do so much and can't replace therapy.

I also take Ativan to help with anxiety so maybe this combination will work.

Thanks, as always, your great people

Paul

I should have mentioned, just as a general comment, that the worst of the side-effects for me, lasted about 10 days. I had a couple that continued for up to 6 weeks ... but they weren't bad, they weren't deal-breakers.

That first 10 days was rough, the side-effects were worse than I expected. But I'd promised myself I would slug it out and give it a fair chance -- and that slugging it out might be really hard. I'm glad now that I walked into it with that attitude, otherwise I wouldn't have stuck with it.

But now, I can say, it was worth it for me.
