Hi Riggs,

I'm a police officer of 13 years service. I'm in an unarmed police force, well uniformed members are unarmed. Anyway i was shot 2 years ago in the chest and almost killed. I suffered after and was diagnosed with PTSD.
It's affected my mariage which is not great even now..
i had the usual at work, management couldn't care less........all they worry about it the claim etc.
My future career is uncertain and nothing was done for me when i came back to work..other than stick me doing the same job in the same area where i was shot..
I have 3 kids under 6 and i would not encourage any of them to join the police. I have nothing else so i have to get on with it. I got help for PTSD which was great but i still have bad days....
Police are the same all over.......every where.. we get on with it....we laugh at the things that make others cry....
I remember as a raw recruit been directed to pick up the body parts of a suicide victim who had jumped in front of a train. An Inspector said if any of us didn't want to or feel up to it, then to go back to the station and hand in out notice. That bastard has since been promoted twice...
So thats the police all over for u........
Take care Riggs

Hi Riggs,
I know how you feel about being a guinea pig...the Effexor did nothing for me, every possible bad side effect I had...and that was at 37.5...that being said I know so many people who swear by it...I myself have been on Celexa for about two years now and it works for me.

Have you found a drug that works yet? I know it takes a while for it all to work out...not to mention as you live with different stressors, you may have to change dosages and such....Trial and err is so much fun....
Best of luck

Annie
