Hello, I am new here, and have been diagnosed with PTSD for about a year. I live in the USA, in Oklahoma, and am a single mother of 2, struggling to live my life with PTSD. I was married to an abusive man for 18 years and am 2 years into the divorce process.

I have attended a support group for over 2 years now, and it does help, but it is generalized, not specific for PTSD, and although I find people who really care about me, they dont understand my life.

My family just laughs at the diagnosis and says I am trying to play the victim. Others just say "suck it up and get over it." But I can't seem to get over it. there are so many triggers. Everywhere I turn. Plus the reality that I am still being stalked by my ex-husband. I just feel like such a mess and really hope to find others here who get it.

My main stressor right now is I cannot seem to hold a regular job due to the triggers and fears. How do other single parents handle their life? I have to make an income somehow, I have a degree even, but cannot seem to overcome my symptoms. My children are suffering because of my lack of income. Please share any ideas. I am desperate.
