| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

Bec | Bec,
Its basically a pregnancy version of a plaster cast like you would for a broken leg. The idea of it is to give you a 3D reminder of what you looked like pregnant. Many people have theirs painted, done with mosaic, dressed up with material, frame it, hang it. My plan is to have it painted and framed when we can afford it a bit more. It was expensive but I am so glad that I did it. I thought about it while pregnant with Alexander but didn't bother. They use medical grade, non toxic plaster of paris and use the same procedure to plaster up your belly. Old undies on, naked torso and belly and on goes the plaster. When it sets they cut your old knickers off, you do a couple of breaths to loosen that cast and voila! The unadorned version of this cast is still lovely as it is a stark white and smooth version of boobs and belly. |

| | Kerrie Anne,
That is so awesome. When I was in school for painting, I actually did a whole series on the pregnant figure. I think it is so beautiful. |

| | Ohh, that sounds so wonderful Kerri!! It was what I imagined, LOL. It's been years since I was pregnant (I can't have anymore) and somedays miss my belly even now. You will always have your belly!! I think that is so great!
