| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | I slept from 6:45 PM last night until 6:15 this morning. GOOD! At least one other, perhaps two other evenings this week I fell asleep as early as 7:30PM and slept the night through. Very unusual for me and most awesome. |

| | Dug out my guitar tonight. I haven't played it in years and have to relearn everything all over again. So I took all the strings off, cleaned it up and put new strings on. I tuned it.. but it could still use some tweaking as I'm out of practice. I even went and found beginner lessons to go by that are free and online. So I will start making myself practice everyday for 15 minutes.
I used to love listening and learning how to play and singing away. My dad and brother both play and are rather amazing and i'd like to be able to play with them. I decided that it's time to attempt to start doing some of the things I used to love. So this is my first baby step.

| | Went and bought a guitar tuner, stand, some books and some picks. Tuned the guitar, properly, with Matt's help and did lesson one today! Matt also did it. I just found a great thing that both of us will enjoy! 15 minutes a day. ha. It was lot's of fun.

| | Today I did something good for myself. I made some positive affirmations and allowed myself to feel deserving of them. I'm learning to "give myself permission" which is something my therapist suggest. |

| | I watched this comedy tonight with my husb., "Little Miss Sunshine", it was hysterically funny. Not only was I busting out laughing, but was in heaven too, listening to my husb. crack up. Even looking at his eyes, I could see his watery, teary eyes from the humor he found in this movie. Highly recommend it, for great laughs.
The name doesn't do the movie justice either, as I almost didn't watch, simply based on the name sounding silly to me.
Loved it, and could watch it again and again. It sold me on my willingness to watch Comedy, nevermind the Pyschol. Thrillers. |

| | When I got home from work today, my husband asked 'Do you want to go out to dinner?' First thought in my head was 'No way...I'm home now and want to stay here.' Then I thought about the fact that I'm trying to expand my contracted world and get out more. So I said yes.
I'm glad I did. It was my husband, myself and our 15 year old. The restaurant was crowded and noisy. I thought 'Oh, shit!'. But once we were seated and we started talking I was able to block a whole lot of the noise out and just enjoy my family's company.
Gave my hubby a kiss on the way home and a 'thank you' for getting me out of the house and helping me to enjoy myself. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
