| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Bella,
No, it's not on horseback...but that would add a definate different edge to it!! And I can just picture the faces of some that I fence with. They'd love it! I've attached a picture I got from online that shows a fencer in full gear.
Lisa
PS-I don't know if the picture will work. The last one I attached didn't. *finger's crossed* |

| | Detailed and cleaned every bit of dust from in and outside of computers and work areas, among a lot of organizing and other cleaning.
Had a wonderful conversation with my daughter at her bedtime that lasted 40 min. Omg'sh, Her humor and smiles are precious. We really, really enjoyed this time, and without a single interruption!
Thouroughly enjoyed this evening, as well. |

| | I went for coffee this evening. Out.. in a busy coffee shop with someone I had just met.
I had some anxious, heart-pounding moments. However I did have a great time and a great talk. I am so proud of myself!

| | I had an interesting experience I'd like to share with all of you. I thought I would treat myself to a massage, specifically, shiatsu. I was nervous about it considering how hyper-sensitive I have been with anyone touching me. I didn't get a shiatsu massage. I ended up receiving a qigong treatment. Simply, I think it's a form of Chinese medicine. It was a rather bizarre and foreign experience, but a good one. I have never believed in energy work. After today's experience, I am more open-minded about it. |

| | Tude, what was involved in your session?
I went to the first day of a weekend graduate class I am taking. It's hard to go and be involved, but I think it helps me be a better teacher, so it's worth it.

Reason: Because being a teacher doesn't mean I'm immune to typos.

| | kers, I don't know what she did. I am not familiar with meridians, chi, stagnation, chakras and the like. Quite honestly I don't believe in that stuff, yet I don't disbelieve in many things due to my own ignorance. I'll try just about anything once.
Best I could without getting worked up, I shared some of my recent difficulties and experiences. From her perspective it made sense. She said something about my patients' negative energy stuck inside of me causing an imbalance. I don't know, it's all foreign to me. Then she showed me how to do a qigong exercise to do at home. It reminds me of tai-chi. It's supposedly clears toxic emotions. Then I layed on the massage table and closed my eyes. I am shocked I was able to do this. It's difficult for me to be still and even more difficult to trust someone. Then, I am not sure if I understand it at all. Did she use her energy to try and rebalance mine? Being quite the skeptic, I would not believe it's possible unless I experienced it. Afterwards, I was very tired and in a bit of a daze and relaxed. Am I still skeptical? Yes, but I am going go back in a couple weeks. We'll see. |

| | Well, this didn't happen today, nor is it about me, but I did want to say I am really proud of Anthony for how well he has managed his PTSD despite stressful situations of late. |

| | I made my boyfriend talk to my mother on the phone. She would have driven me crazy and stayed on the phone for about an hour, and I just can't deal with her today.
Instead she spoke to him for about two minutes, he hung up and promptly said "You owe me big time!!!!!" He was joking, I said I want a present for industrially cleaning his house, carpets upholstery walls etc. I wasn't joking. ta da!!!! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
