| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | I took myself for a massage yesterday. It was scary as all get-out, but I think I found it a little relaxing, and it's a step in getting over my dislike of being touched. |

| | Today I told one of the psychologists at the eating disorders clinic I attend about the fact that I have several kid fragments who live inside me and determine much of my behaviour and who are the holders of all the emotions I wasn't allowed to have as a kid. Every time I talk about this stuff I am so afraid I'll get told to stop making stuff up. But that is not what happened today, and now all my kids can come to the clinic and not have to be parked outside the door so to speak. They/we are happy!

| | I cleaned my carpets, wet vacced um, didn't know my ferret loved it, so we played cat and mouse, she's hide and I would wait til she came from under the couch again, she would do silly circles, jumping and prancing and then hide again. We had a ball. |

| | I went for a shiatsu massage yesterday. It was just to do something nice for myself and as a reward for my hard work. It felt strange but good to be on the receiving end of healing touch. Physically, I am sore as hell, but the rest of me feels better than I did before. |

| | If you told me a year ago, I would spend my Friday night going to a yoga class followed by a group meditation led by a Buddhist monk, I wouldn't have believed you. That was what I did yesterday and it was good. What struck me the most was how developing mindfullness in meditation can help us in our daily lives- the real practice is outside of the meditation practice. I have tried meditating for the first time this past year and I have had no clue what I am doing. It seems worthwhile to investigate and add to my tools for living. |
