So This is very tough for me, I have spend many years getting up the courage to find others like me , I had been warned that they were many people that are miss diagnosed so i saw a few different specialist. And i guess that I have to admit that I have PTSD I saw a psychiatrist who specializes in EMDR who said that is pretty traumatic and that we should wait till iam less able to thrive. My problem is that this a new dx. for me and I can hardly function, I am still at work which part of the whole problem, but at present not an option to give up I am an emergency service person working the front lines In a busy center I had the unfortunate task at being the person who found my 55 year old dad slumped over the wheel of his trucks offering from an inter cranial hemorrhage long story Short we took him in by ambulance I was supposed to be off but ended up being a huge part of his treatment... I live in a world with constant night mares flashbacks anger but the worst is a m afraid to sleep cause of the dreams ,I am still working on the car but i also have a 7 month daughter to care for and raise. Talking to others i hope will help...Thank you for your time

Mouse, you have one of the hardest jobs I can think of. My SIL is a trauma nurse and she is married to an EMT. How they do their jobs and then go home to their real lives must be a huge balancing act. You are not alone! You must have a really big heart to do your job. I'm sorry you had to face the additional trauma of finding your Dad. I don't have any words of wisdom for you but I will add you to my prayer list.

Hi Mouse,

Welcome to the forum. Excuse my ignorance but do I understand correctly in that you work as a trauma or emergency nurse?

Hi Mouse,

You people fight the battle every day and there are people out here who totaly appreciate what you do and have to see and experiance. If only the Gov. could recodnize what you have to put up with there would be more post work help.

Hi Mouse, welcome to the forum. I agree with Farmer.

I hope you stick around...it's a great place to rant and rave and learn more about what's going on with you. Glad you found us.

Thank you all for your kindness, and support, I am a very private person and used to keeping things all bottled up so this will be a big step here.

Mouse, Yes this is a big step. In the coming months you are going to look back at this time and realize that it was a turning point for you. Each baby step will bring you closer to healing and wholeness. Keep posting!
