| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Well...shoop de doop! Sorry, that would have been my fault since I have started both threads! This thread, when I started it, is simliar to the lyrics thread, just a place to put poems that you think are relavant to PTSD. The poetry by us thread is poetry that was actually written by us. I hope that clears things up a bit. Sorry if I confused any of you! I did not mean for that! |

| | Nam...could it be that you forgot that you made the other post too? LOL
If I did it, that would be my answer. It wouldn't be an excuse, 'cause it would be the truth! |

| | Hi--
Nam--I was a little confused initially too...but this one is also my bad...b/c I felt like editing my "poem" and thought I'd do it here--where the original is posted...I don't know how I'd feel about putting it into the other one--most ppl don't read this one ;)...i honestly thought most ppl would ignore this one hahahaha...sorry to bring in the extra confusion |

| | I ran across the original poem somewhere during my surfing on the net about ptsd. I thought it would be good to share since it hit so close to home. Then...waaay later, Cookie wanted to write some poems in the art thread and I've noticed that others have posted poems too elsewhere on the forum that they have written and I thought it would be good to start another thread...
This exercise in learning is proof that I have a type B personality hence why my house is a disaster! Sometimes the "wing it" method doesn't work! Hehehe. All's good, right? |

All's good, right? | Hey Nam...don't worry about the house. Just join the club! I've posted on this forum before about how I know there are things to do around the house but when I go to do something, there's so much to do I don't know where to start. My mind is so cluttered with PTSD stuff that it gets overwhelmed when I want to do some housework.
I suffer not only from PTSD, but from CHAOS too. While it hasn't been documented medically, I'm sure if there was a study done about it, it would make all the medical journals. CHAOS stands for "Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome" and stems primarily from the lack of housekeeping skills, although there are other reasons for it too...
My attitude towards it...when CHAOS hits, sit back, relax, go for a walk, take a bath, watch TV...
Have a great one! |

| | Poem...untitled...Dec. 1977 Fires
Never
Burn
In
Monsoon rains
In
Monsoon lands
And it is
raining
Outside
And it is
raining
Inside
And I do
not even
Own
an umbrella
