| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Hi, I am Linda - PTSD From Street Fight Hi, my name is Linda, I am 27 years old lady. I am originally from Russia, but live in the US for 8 years now (naturalized). I work in a biochemical laboratory, and also part-time in the animal hospital. Plus, I am about to complete a B.A. program (major in biology, minor in chemistry). Speak fluent English, however, sometimes make mistakes
Yes, I have PTSD, and have it for very long time: my biggest traumatic event happened 13 years ago, when I was 14. A street fight. I do not feel comfortable talking in details in public, but maybe will later share my story.
I have a husband, and, ironically, he has PTSD as well, after a war in some small country in Cenrtal America.
I also have 2 big fat cats, an old dog, and a Guinea pig - none of which have PTSD
Hope to get along with you. |

| | Hi Linda, nice to have you!
I have a dog who doesn't have PTSD either!
You've already been making yourself at home, which is wonderful. See if you husband would consider joining too, as we have quite a few families on here.
LOL, I wouldn't worry about making English mistakes, cause that's how we come up with new words!! LOL

| | Hey Linda, (excuse the Ambien affect on my writing; everything is wavy to me at the moment: awesome!)
What kind of lab work do you mainly do? I did Clinical Laboratory. When I was going to school, my major was Medical Technology... I have somewhere between 20-30 hours left to complete a B.S. undergraduate degree. If we're on similar paths I'd like to talk more on that topic because I am curious how you can do it... I never thought I'd say I would love to be able to get back into doing laboratory work for which I have 13 years of training and experience. Aside from doing art work (which I've given up), lab stuff is all I could do... since graduating highschool and joining the military. I need to get my confidence back, learn more self control around people (be more open and friendly), trust coworkers and bosses, control my temper, and not fall apart if someone is brought to the ER or ICU and they resemble a casualty from my past. Last but not least, I need to be able to focus and not get so sidetracked with past memories. Almost forgot, I need the energy on tap to get going. Welcome

| | Hey linda. no pets now, daughter took her rabbit, and zacks hamster died after a long full, life. we have a family at school of 8 girls adopted from russia, from 7-16. they are lovely girls, speak pretty good english. what amazes me is, even though all of these girls have had a very hard life, they love to laugh, and are very affectionate. it is interesting to hear them speak, with a strange mix of russian and west virginian accents, lol.
this is a good place to learn and heal.
